Baghdadi knot-pile and flat-weave rug, wool on wool, 60-70 years old, 4x9 feet.
An interesting mix of flat and knot-pile weaving, the subtle shifts make for a more delicate piece. The central designs are somewhat symmetrical but changing, however, the borders help to maintain some consistency. This would be great in a wide entryway or polished cement corridor, or even on the wall.
*Note: A kilim is a flat-weave textile.
*Note: A knot-pile is a three-dimensional textile with up-down, left to right, and perpendicular knots that give it a typical wall-to-wall carpet appearance.
