Zagros Kurdish knot pile, wool on wool, 50-60 years old, 3.5x8 feet.
This wide, thick rug is a great example of the black and red pile rugs made in Kurdistan, northern Iraq. They're warm and serious without being overly produced or showy. The quality in this piece is very well maintained throughout the entire weaving.
*Note: A knot-pile is a three-dimensional textile with up-down, left to right, and perpendicular knots that give it a typical wall-to-wall carpet appearance.
All sizes are approximate, specific measurements available upon request. Condition for all units is included to the best of our knowledge.
