Kurdish knot pile, wool on wool, 60-70 years old, 4x5 feet.
This vibrant carpet has a lustrous finish and almost has a glowing effect in the right light. Its use of shadowing creates a multi-dimensional feel to it, beautiful colorway and pattern. Traditional rams' horns design was meant as a sign of fertility for the home and for the crops, unique one-of-a-kind Kurdish style carpet.
*Note: A knot-pile is a three-dimensional textile with up-down, left to right, and perpendicular knots that give it a typical wall-to-wall carpet appearance.
