Kurdish Iraqi knot pile, wool on wool, 50-60 years old, 3x4 feet.
A wonderful little wool, knot-pile rug. The pile has been kept long to keep a soft touch. It would go great in a bathroom or on the kitchen floor.
It's a great tribal mountain piece from the Zagros Mountains on the border between Iraq and Iran.
*Note: A knot-pile is a three-dimensional textile with up-down, left to right, and perpendicular knots that give it a typical wall-to-wall carpet appearance.
