Kurdish kilim, wool on wool, 50-60 years old, 5x9 feet.
This stunning kilim is like the geography of Iraq, a beautiful mix of mountains and desert. This is a Kurdish piece, likely woven in one of the many workshops around Erbil or Duhok, in northern Iraq.
This broad muted-tone runner will help open up any space and definitely be a point of conversation.
It is made almost entirely of undyed goat hair, with just hints of color, also from natural sources. This is a pretty remarkable piece given its origin.
*Note: A kilim is a flat-weave textile.
